The Restoring the Merrimack River by Connecting Communities through Stormwater Education project was funded under the Environmental Protection Agency's Urban Waters Program. This program supports community efforts to protect and clean up local waterways and surrounding land.
Through this project, we:
- developed messages that inspire action;
- offered solutions to the problem of polluted stormwater; and
- showed how we all play a role in restoring the Merrimack River.
Here in the Merrimack River Watershed, the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG) and the Merrimack River Watershed Council (MRWC) work together to maximize existing and develop new partnerships that represent the diversity and unique character of the Greater Lowell region to create stormwater education that is relevant to everyone.
